Businessman chopped dead in Gazipur

A stationary goods businessman  was hacked to death by miscreants in Joydebpur upazila of the district Tuesday evening.

The deceased was identified as Tutul, 35, son of a freedom fighter Abdul Baten, hailed from Munsipara area of the upazila.

The deceased’s wife Parvin Akhter said a group of miscreants attacked Tutul in the area around 6:30pm, leaving him dead on the spot.

On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College morgue.

Police suspected that Tutul was killed following previous enmity, said Joydebpur Thana officer-in-charge (OC) Khandakar Rezaul Hasan.
